About Setsebi
A platform of Cabanga Platforms, built to connect organisations that need their people trained to the practitioners who can do it.
The name
Setsebi is Setswana for the expert - the one who knows, because they have done it. It names the person on the supply side rather than the activity, which is deliberate. This is not a school and it does not sell education. It is a register of people who have actually held the job.
What Setsebi is not
- Not a course library. There are no video modules here and no self-paced content. The product is the match, not the material.
- Not a professional development points registry. Continuing professional development compliance is a separate business with a different buyer. It is not this one.
- Not a training provider. We do not employ facilitators, own a curriculum or take delivery risk. We introduce, verify and coordinate.
- Not an accreditation body. Where a provider holds an accreditation we record it and name the awarding body. We do not confer one.
How anyone gets on here
Two checks, and both apply to both sides. A practitioner passes them to be listed. An organisation passes them before a need is worked on. Neither is a badge to be earned later - they are the conditions of appearing at all.
- You confirm it yourself, from your own number. Filling in a form on this site does not put you anywhere. Nothing is recorded until you send us a WhatsApp message that the form has already written for you. That message, arriving from a working number that belongs to a real person, is the first check - and it is the reason nobody can fill this register with names that were never real.
- Then a person checks you. Somebody here confirms that a practitioner does the work they have listed, or that an organisation and its need are genuine. Only after that does anything appear. It is slower than a sign-up button and that is the point.
The same standard runs across every platform Cabanga operates, for the same reason: the people on one side of a register are only worth reaching if the people on the other side are real.
What we hold both sides to
Setsebi brings the two parties together and then stays in the middle of the arrangement. The organisation is held to what it has committed to, the practitioner is held to what they have contracted to deliver, and we are the party that makes sure the obligations on both sides are met.
That is the whole reason a register like this is worth more than a list of phone numbers. Browsing, posting a need and being listed are free, and the order of the register is not for sale.
Where we operate
Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia at launch - the markets where a listing can be verified by somebody who can pick up a phone and get a straight answer. The register widens along the publication network as verification capacity follows.
